First attempt: Vintage!

Hello everyone!

Did you all have a great weekend? Enjoyed yourself?
And... ready for a new week? :)
I've been searching a while for my mojo and yesterday I made this card. Just for fun; no challenge!
I love soft and romantic patterns but I also love everything vintage!

Digging through my stash I found some rhinestones that I bought years ago....
I stumbled upon a sweet and cute vintage image from Crafty Secrets, a chipboard frame and some gingham ribbon and off I went! I inked the chipboard frame with baby blue ink:

My favorite papers from Melissa Frances, some trim, a few stitches ( not perfect but the irregular stitches do have their charm don't you think?) And I love that little splash of red; and using red is a challenge of its own for me! Some white ink on the edges of my kraft card and a few adhesive pearls; that's all!
Here's my card:
(I think it's not too bad for a first attempt; my apologies for the blurry picture...)

Time to clean up and folding laundry (.....) ; till soon!

CR84FN 17

Good morning everyone!

Already Sunday...and that means we still have about 1 day weekend :)
And there is some great news; there is a new challenge at CR84FN!!!

It also means that this is my last submission as their Guest Designer for February 2011.
I want to thank Mona and all the other multi talented Design Team Members for this wonderful opportunity.
It has been a privilege and so much fun!
Thank you ladies!!!!!;
(I'll be back to play along next week :)

This weeks it's all about these gorgeous colors:

Looking at this means only thing; spring! :)

My image is framed like a painting :). I bought this stamp on a stamp event last year and I really have no idea who the manufacturer is :)
On top of my card I glued some lace.

And I hate it when my sewing machine is giving up; arghhhh!!!!!! I couldn't make any stitches at all....
And I didn't want to use my border punches. It would be too much behind the frame.
My sewing machine will be ready next week but I already bought me a handy dandy tool for making some stitches; I just didn't get it in time for this card.......
So I decided to add a few more roses to pretty my card up a bit.
( Is this english? Forgive me my mistakes please....)

The flowers are from Prima, the frame from Steph and all the other supplies from my stash.
Here is my card:

I hope you join us this week! The colors are gorgeous and I hope you are inspired to play along.
And if you're looking for more inspiration I suggest you take a look on the blogs of the multi talented ladies of the design team:

Have a wonderful Sunday; till soon!

TSTR # 50 "Buttons and Bows"

Hello everyone,

How are you? It's weekend and theat means a little bit more time to do things we love...
And for me; it means havng a friend here for 2 days and tonight we're celebrating the birthday from one of our friends. We made no plans for tomorrow and that means some more time for blogging, visiting you :) and some papercrafting!
I missed my mojo for a few days but I think it's returning :)

Unfortunately I missed two challenges of The Shabby Tea Room ;
I'm glad I could join them this week :)
This week it's all about buttons and bows and soft colors.
Here's the gorgeous photo inspiration:

I made a card with papers and a die cut from Melissa Frances, a doily, a rose, some pearls, a piece of lace and of course buttons and a bow :)
The pearls are a piece of a string; I cut it and glued it on my doily.
The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse stamps ( Victorian Frippery)

It's good to be creating again; my card is not perfect but I think my mojo is on its way back to me :)
Here's my card:

That's all for today; I'll be back tomorrow with another card.
Have a wonderful weekend; till soon!

CCCB # 44 Just a "flat card" :)

Hello everyone,

How are you? It's almost Friday and almost weekend.... I am looking forward to it.
First I want to thank you all for your sweet comments and advice on my previous post about loosing my mojo.
It did help! Thank you so much!

After 6 days without creating anything I finally created something.
I made a card for this weeks' challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog

But before I show you my card  I want  to thank the ladies of the DT for making me a spotlight artist twice (!!!) this week! ( you can find my cards HERE and HERE ). Ladies thank you so so much; I am so honored!

And now over to the challenge!
This challenge brought me back to the basic of cardmaking :)
This week it's all about a creation with nothing on it. No bows, flowers, lace, buttons..

I've been diggin' through my stash and while I was sorting out my papers I got some new ideas.
I used some papers from Melissa Frances, 2 border punches, 1 corner punch and some white ink for the edges. And a small sentiment stamped with black ink.:

Just a close up from the papers and the punched borders:

And here is my card:

Basic and simple but I like the result.
Till soon; enjoy your day/evening!

Two things that made me very happy.....

Hello everyone,

How are you? I am desperately looking for some inspiration; I think I lost my mojo...
The last weeks were busy and I hope to squeeze in some time this week for some cardmaking. I already missed a few favorite challenges. But I just caught up with blogging and I've seen a lot of gorgeous creations at your blogs!

Last Friday I received a breathtaking package from someone so so special and that's
Ros. A wonderful and heartwarming surprise after a very busy week.

Just take a look..:

A lovely and sweet little plaque, gorgeous patterned papers, a handmade notebook. a breathtaking card and ...heart shaped doilies!!!!

And a GORGEOUS stamp!

Ros thank you so so much; you are so special.....

And looking in my garden I looked at the very first sign of spring. Just look at my hydrangea:

Last year these little knobs turned into beautiful flowers and I hope that  they will bloom like last year:

Today has been a sunny day but with a temperature below zero and a very cold wind. Spring is far away....:)
I hope to come back soon with a card; but first I have to find my mojo back; argh!!!!
Enjoy your day; till soon!

CR84FN16

Hello everyone!

And good morning; it's already Sunday and early in the morning here in Holland; 6.00 AM :)
That means.......
a brand new challenge at CR84FN!

Let's take a  look at the gorgeous colors in for this weeks' challenge:

My oh my....are these colors stunning or what????

I started with an embossed chipboard frame from Tattered Angels and inked it up with a shade of violet ink I had for ages. And  added a pin that's made by me. I made a lot of these pins and you will see more of these. Each pin is a bit different!

And what would a card be without pink roses if you can add some pink :)
On the left side of my card you can see a floral background stamp from Darkroom door; stamped with London Fog.
On the right you see one of the stamps from Waltzingmouse stamps; this is one of the "Text it" stamps stamped with Angel Pink.
Ribbon from my stash; lace from Marinanne Design ( Eline 's huis)

In the center of my frame I stamped an ornament ( don't know which manufacturer; I have it for ages...) with Angel Pink . The sentment is from Flourishes; stamped with Tuxedo Black. I used my corner punch for an elegant finishing touch. I am pleased with the result!
Here is my card!

I hope you like it!
And if you need some inspiration....just visit one of the DT members:

I hope you can join us; it will be fun!

Till soon; enjoy your day!

Baby boy and awards

Hello everyone,

It has been a few days since I've been here.... And like all of you; I had a busy week. I am so glad it's Saturday and weekend! I missed a few challenges; I hope to play along next week. And I will visit you all; I'll do the best I can to catch up in the upcoming days....

Today I want to show you a card that I made for one of my husbands' colleagues. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
Left on top you see a piece of paper with what we call here in Holland "mice".
These mice are made of aniseed and sugar and delicious on biscuits. It is a Dutch tradition to serve a biscuit with mice for everyone who comes along to admire the newborn baby.
And of course a bow in blue and white! And some small pom poms.

The baby's name is Thomas so I added his initial. All papers are from my stash and the tag is made with my Vintage labels 4 from Waltzingmouse stamps. The sentiment is from Flourishes and I cut it with my Spellbinders labels 4
Here is my card:

I also received 2 awards in the last week. Just take a look at the blogs of these lovely and amazingly talented ladies; you will find a lot of gorgeous creations on their blogs!!!!!!

I got this one from Colleen and Sandra:

And this one from Maria and Lynn

I am so honored and happy; ladies thank you so so much!!!!!

Receiving these awards means I have to pass it on to 25 persons.
That's a lot and I am convinced that  ALL OF YOU DESERVE THESE AWARS!!!!

I received the Stylish award twice..that means telling 16 (!!) things about yourself....
I'll come back to share these because right now I dont have enough time. My apologies.......

I hope you all will have a wonderful weekend. I have some gifts to wrap, 2 cards to finish. We're having a sort of family-get-together-day tomorrow at my sisters' house. All my brothers, sisters, BIL and SIl will be there. it will be fun!

Till soon!

CCCB # 43 "All that glitters"

Hello everyone!
How are you? Busy creating ? :)
This is my second post for today; I'm just poppin' in....There is a truckload of laundry waiting for me; I really have some ironing to do. And I hope to visit you all this evening.

I made a card for this weeks' challenge at the City Crafter Challenge blog
This week it's all about using silver and gold on your project.
I already picked my papers on Tuesday but it took me ages to make a combo of silver and gold and my embellishments.....
But; my card  is ready!
Besides the papers and the trim I created everything myself.
And let me tell you on forehand::
I think I lost myself a bit in doilies and heat-embossing :)

I covered a doily with Versamark and heat- embossed it with gold embossing powder from Zing. It turned out quite good...
I got these papers ( I really LOVE these!!!) from Jacqueline

.

That pin is handmade by me. Just adding some pearls and spacers on a pin with a bit of glue.
And that's all the silver I added :)
The flower is made out of pale yellow cardstock from my stash and I glued a pearl in the center.
I stamped the butterfly ( Marianne Design / Eline's huis) with Versamark onto vellum and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I cut it out and ...ready! The trim is from Maya Road.

The tag is stamped with Vintage Labels set and Victorian Frippery set; both from Waltzingmouse stamps. the tag is stamped with Tuxedo Black and the sentiment with London Fog. Both inks are from Tsukineko.I inked the edges with Smokey Blue from Color Box. I used my corner punch and distressed the edges with Antique Linen.

Here is my card; I hope you like it.

And now I must fold laundry and ironing...argh!!!!
I'll be back soon; It will be fun to visit you all.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Valentine Cake

Hello everyone,

How are you?

It's weekend and time for cardmaking and cake decorating!

Today I decorated a cake in a workshop. Covered it with fondant and used all kinds of molds to decorate it. My first attempt to cover a cake with fondant:)
The pictures are a bit blurry; it has been a rainy day and cold......
I came home with my cake and couldn't catch any decent light. The last one is made with daylight and I had to switch the lights on for the first three pictures.

We already had a piece of this delicious cake; it's a piece of heaven on a  cake plate :)
Filled with lemon cream and berries...oh my...and in a few minutes I am going to make myself an espresso and have another piece. ( Yes I planned a long workout for tomorrow morning!)

And I am going to make my espresso with this beauty. My  husband spoilt me rotten and bought this for me:

And after my (N)espresso and cake I have some pins to glue and cards to finish...
Enjoy your evening; I'll be back tomorrow with a card.
(And probably more cards )
Till soon!

It's a lovely day but it started not so perfect.....

Hello everyone!
First of all; thank you for all your lovely, warm and wonderful comments on my card and being a guest designer at CR84FN
You really made my day/week!!!!!
.
But I had a bit of trouble posting  my card  in the very early morning hours ( 5.45 AM...)
I tried a prescheduled post but that didn't turn out very well.
I woke up early, started my computer and guess what...NO INTERNET!!
There I was; sitting in my jammies, my hair looking like a hamster (...) and I can tell you I was not amused...I am convinced I gained a few extra wrinkles; due to the stress and being frustrated.....

But it finally worked out well although a bit later as planned.
Now I'm fully recovered :); time for some cardmaking..till soon!

CR84FN14

Good morning!

How are you? Ready for a challenge at CR84FN??
To me this challenge is very special......

It all started with an email that Mona sent me. Mona is the owner of CR84FN and started this challenge about 5 months ago.
A few weeks ago I opened my email and I was totally confused in a very pleasant way :)
She asked me if I would like to be a Guest Designer at CR84FN for February.
I've been reading that mail at least 3 times and.....
Of course I said yes!

It's an honor to join this multi talented DT for a whole month ( And still... I can hardly believe it!!)Thank you Mona and all the other amazingly talented ladies from CR84FN for this wonderful opportunity!!!!!

And now over to the graphic where it's all about!!
Just take a look at the color graphic of this week:

Isn't it gorgeous?
Speaking of chocolate :)

I made a card base with papers from Marianne Design (Eline's huis) and glued a pale pink polka dot paper from Tilda on top of it. I got that lovely little pink punched border from Sylvia. The white/pink polka dot border is made from a piece in my stash and punched with a MS punch.

I glittered a Tattered Angels embossed chipboard butterfly, covered it with Sepia from Archival Ink and glittered it up. The sentiment and scrolls are both from Waltzingmouse stamps ( Victorian Frippery and Fancy Phrases); also stamped with Sepia. A doily from my stash and all the roses are from Prima.
Here is my card:

I hope you can join us this week; it will be fun to play along!!!
And if you're looking for some inspiration you can take a look at the blogs of all the amazingly talented women of this DT:

I am looking forward to your creation!!!

Have a wonderful Sunday!
