Weekend and PDCC 48

And it's Friday! That means...weekend! Yesterday was a wonderful day; I had lunch with my youngest son, we did some shopping at Ikea, had a great dinner last night and a wonderful evening. What more can you wish? Nothing; I am happy and feel so blessed...
And now time for another challenge. This weeks challenge at the Play Date Cafe is about thinking outside the box. Here is the photo inspiration:

CCCB sketch challenge week 23

Good moring every one; are you having a great day so far? The weatherforecast told us there will be rain tonight. But it's not evening yet....Now the sun is shining and within two hours I am going to shop with my youngest son at IKEA. We'll have lunch together and I love days like this.. Lovely weather, spending time with of one my sons, go shopping, having fun. laughing and talking. Tonight my husband and I will be having chinese food for dinner (take out) so it's an easy peasy day of cooking.... And I think I will be making a card tonight.... But first a new challenge and it's a  great challenge...
I love this weeks' challenge at the  City Crafter Challenge Blog . This week it's about a sketch. Here it is:

I knew immediately I wanted to work with my favorite color: blue. I had some color inspiration right here in front of me; from my coffee mug!
Here is my coffee mug:

I made a card but wasn't pleased about the blue background. So I put another piece of white ca…

CCCB "Tree of Books" week 22

Manit's COLD down here in the Netherlands; only 12 degrees today! (55F for USA :))  Last night I had a barbecue and I was almost freezing ( 8 degrees.....). It was a lovely evening and I had a great time but it was so cold.....  So today; it was definitely time for soup! And yes; we had that for lunch :) Fall is here; the weatherforecast is quite optimistic but I have no faith in what they say. Time to wear jeans instead of capris. And sweaters and warm socks.... And now some time for blogging. My husband is watching the football game at the stadium here in town. Our eldest son spends the weekend at his girlfriends' house. Sometimes it's great to be home alone :)!
And now another challenge...!!!!! A new challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog This week you have to include an image of a tree/trees or book/books
Here is the photo inspiration:

And to be honest; the only tree stamps I have are christmas trees........ I didn't want to stamp a christmas tree and searched for some…

TSTR "Fresh Living"challenge #27

Over at The Shabby Tea Room there is a new challenge. This weeks' challenge is about nature and/or the color green.
Here is the photo inspiration:

I made a card with my focus on the color green and added some pink. I created a thank you card and my goal was to create a card with a soft and nostalgic look.
The background stamp is from Darkroom Door. I LOVE this rose stamp! I stamped it with Pear Tart from Tsukineko on cream cardstock. The polka dotted paper is from Papermania Summer Bloom. The green and pink cardstock are from my stash. The border on the green cardstock is one of my Waltzingmouse Stamps; the border is from the Victorian Frippery set. The sentiment on the pink tag is also from this set. Both are stanped with Olive from Color Box. The scrunched seam binding is from June. Flowers from Prima and brad from American Crafts. Adhesive pearls from Kars.I inked the edges also with Olive from Color Box. I used two of my Martha Stewart border punches and my corner punch from Pipoo…

Weekend and Melissa Frances.... are you today? Enjoying your weekend?
If you don't want to read: just scroll down for the card :) I decide to write a bit more of my daily life. Sharing a bit of everything. Today was busy and fun. After loads and loads of laundry (in the blink of an eye there is another pile...)I went to the city. Lovely weather; blue sky and lots of sun. It really felt and looked like a summer day. I went to the market for fresh fruit and vegetables and after that...yes the craft store! I broke my promise; I bought some new papers...but just 5 pages. No paper pads or card kits. I can live with that :) We had dinner with a big salad, roasted potatoes and some beef. That salad is one of my favorite dishes. With a dressing made from olive oil which basil is added.; so delicious. Let me tell you; that is liquid made in heaven! And now time for a card. I made this card yesterday. I used the DP from Melissa Frances ( Vintage Posey). I can hardly find anything of her in the Netherlands; I love he…

CCCB "For the boys" challenge week 21

Oh my; a challenge with my favorite color; blue.... From that point of view easy peasy.... But a masculine card; that's quite another story. A card without, butterflies, pink, glitter, flowers, and all the other girlie stuff....
I saw a little bit of red in the photo inspiration and red is the favorite color of my youngest son. That made it just a bit easier to create a card for this challenge :)......
Here is the photo inspiration:

It took me a while but I am happy with the result. But I keep asking myself; is this masculine enough? Or is it still too feminine? I'd love to hear what you think of it.

This is my card:

Blue and white cardstock from my stash, DP from Crea Motion. I sprayed the embossed chipboard from Tattered Angels with Glimmer Mist "Sapphire". The sentiment is from Wild Rose Studio and stamped with Scarlet from Color Box. The blue striped ribbon is from my stash. I ran it through my Xyron stiocker maker and voila!

Have a wonderful day! Stella

Hello how are you all today? Did you all have a good weekend? My weekend was fabulous. And I'll tell you why......
Saturday I received a big envelope from the UK; it came from Ros. She sent me some of her handmade beauties; in fact I think these are masterpieces... I am over the moon!
To Ros:  I am still speechless and so so happy you made them for me. They arrived at the right moment after a week with ups and downs. So lovely and heartfelt.... I'll cherish them but you know that already. Can't find the words but I hope you know what I mean. Love and hugs, X Stella
Here are the pictures of those beauties:

And just look what she wrote; in English and in Dutch; I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

And this beauty is not just a card....

It's a notepad!!!!!!!

And I'm smitten......

Have a wonderful day! Stella

"Let your light shine" City Crafter Challenge Blog challenge #20

This week at the City Crafter Challenge Blog there is another beautiful challenge. This week its about "Let your light shine".  Add a sun, moon, lamp, lighthouse or a light bulb. Here is the photo inspiration :

Some inspiration hee.....
With fall around the corner we definitely spend more time at home. Today was a lovely day with lots of sunshine, lovely temperature and a blue sky but summer will soon be over . The long evenings in the garden will be over and the same goes for dinner in the garden. With the doors, windows and curtains closed, the lights on and candles burning there will be plenty time  for long evenings with my beloved ones.... I LOVE summer but every season has its charms don't you think? I created a card using some of Websters Pages. On the top of the card ( right side) you'll see a stamped image I got from June. She stamped a beautiful image on a tag. I cut off the top so I could add it as a rectangle on my card. I love how it goes along with the o…

Another card and spotlight artist.

Good morning. how is your week going? After lots and lots of rain we finally are having a few days without rain. But it's a bit chilly outside. A perfect moment for some coffee and blogging.... :)
I am so thrilled that I am a spotlight artist on City Crafter Challenge Blog. There were so many gorgeous participants and I never would have thought they'd pick my card. I am so so thrilled....!!!!
And of course; a card to share! Made from scratch. I have so many tiny pieces  and it's time to reduce it a bit. I made a deal with myself not to buy any paper this month.....Really; I definitely must use some of what I already got and after that I'll buy some new one. And store it somewhere because my closets are in fact a bit too small at the moment :) Is anyone recognising this?
Well here is my card:

Dp from Crea Motion and Eline's. Red and white cardstock from my stash. Doilie from Blokker, scrappers'floss, butterfly punch, Cuttlebug tag die.  Scarlet ink from Color Box.
