Lift challenge # 60

Hello! It's already Thursday and the weekend is ahead of us. At least for me; my weekend starts tomorrow:) I have a card to share; made for the current challenge at the Lift Challenge. We're supposed to lift this card:

The last few days we are experiencing mild temperatures for this time of the year and lots of sun. It feels like spring; I guess that's why I made a card in soft colors; I used a stencil to create chevrons on my glassine bag.  Instead of ribbon I added a butterfly on top of my tag.

This is a color that I love. You all know that shades of blue are my favorite but in fact I love everything blue and green. From baby blue, till dark blue, From lime till teal.   Here is my card:

Have a great day!

Along with some papers from my stash, black ink, sequins and a bit of twine:

A peek of a few flowers, twine in a matching color and what would a card be without a little bling:)
Simple but  - in my opinion - sweet.and "spring-y".

And this is my card

Clean and Simple

Hello!
One of my goals for 2014 is trying new things. One of these goals is making CAS cards. My comfort zone is mixing and matching patterned papers with stamps and embellishments. CAS cards are based upon lots of " space" on your card. That's a challenge for me because I tend to add a lot of things to my cards instead of focussing on just a few things.

Well; here is my first attempt.... (List of supplies at the end of my post)
I submit this card to the current challenge at the Crazy for CAS challenge. We''re suppoed to create a  CAS card with one of more doilies. Whithout using paptterned papers with printed doilies on it. You see; that's a challenge :)
I wiped off the dust of an old stamp set I had for ages:

And here is my card:

Till soon!

Supplies: Bazill shoppe cardstock and sequins from Bij Oma Dee , Maya Road doily stamp set, sentiment from the  Six Sided Sampler by SU,SU ink Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and  Night of Navy, twine from Diffe…

Love lives here....

This weeks' theme on the City Crafter Challenge we're supposed to create a card or project with the word "LOVE" on it.
I wanted to keep it sweet with a touch of spring.
The papers are from my -huge- stash; they are all from the Girls' Paperie "Kitch" series . I used a sentiment stamp and dies from the "Love lives here" set by Papertrey Ink. I added a felt heart in the center of my house, some pom pom trim and used a circle and a border punch.  The edges of my card base are inked with white ink.
Here is a sneak peek; I guess sequins is my middle name:)

And here is my card:

Hope you are all safe; especially those of you who live in the UK. Watching the news I noticed that so many of you are dealing with floods and horrible weather. Take care!

Stella

Just simple

Friday evening and weekend! That means for this weekend spending Saturday in my craft room. And in between getting the laundry done..... a mix of business and pleasure hee hee!
I made a card for the eldest son of one of our friends. That cutie is 6 years and last weekend he received his first swimming certificate. I made a card for him and gathering supplies I noticed that I do not have much "kid supplies". A perfect reason to add them to my wishlist:)
A few fishtails, a button, sequins and papers from Fancy Pants (Down by the shore). That's all I came up with. I need to practice on cards for kids I guess.
Here is my card

And since it is Valentine's day I hope that you all will experience the feeling of being loved...!

Lift challenge # 59

Watching the news about the storm that is going on in the United Kingdom . Lots of wind and floods in your part of the world; take care...I hope you are all safe....
Already wednesday; coming home and saying hello and goodbye to Marcel who left that very moment to watch the match of FC Groningen. Fun for him and I have the house all by myself. I love that from time to time. It's quiet, I had dinner and coffee and just watched ice skating.at the Olympic Games in Sochi.
And now time for Blogger and my card :)
This is the card we're supposed to lift at the Lift Challenge:

This challenge is fun to play along. Lifting a card is offering an opportunity to use the supplies and tools you have without being limited in colors, supplies or techniques.  And before I hop over to my card I want to say thank you to the DT for being in the top 3 in the previous challenge. You can find my card HERE

Now my card...... I used papers from one of the pads that I had to buy :) last year; "Flo…

For this challenge  we're supposed to create a card based upon this sketch:

I made a thank you card; for a  sweet friend. For this card I used my very very favorite paper pad lately: Keepin' Cozy from Echo Park. The sentiment is from the Mega Mixed messages set,.the flowers are from the Mini Blooms set. Both from Papertrey Ink. And so is that heart border die (Yes I know; again :)...)

The sentiment is stamped with Scarlet Jewel  and the leafs with Simply Chartreuse from Papertrey Ink,. The flowers are stamped with Rhubarb Stalk from Memento. I inked the the edges with my tea dye duo also from Papertrey.  The colors of the paper are almost the same as the ink. Not…

City Crafter Challenge # 197

Hello!
Sunday evening; it has been a busy week! The days were filled with work, visiting friends and attending the funeral of the mother of our best friends. It has been a week of mixed emotions; life in all its facets with a smile and a tear.
And now it's sunday evening; time to post a card. I made quite a few cards and will be posting them in the upcoming days.
I made this card for the challenge over at the City Crafter Challenge blog. We're supposed to use black / grey and white as your main colour and a splash any other one colour. Writing this post I discovered I forgot to stamp my sentiment in black; I guess I  got carried away by adding a splash of color. Maybe I am not nailing this challenge but I submit my card anyway...
I choose a bright shade green and added lots of white. Usng a Memory Box leaf die for the first time and an oldie:). The butterfly die and embossing folder is one of my very first purchases.

I also added a bit of washi tape and where would I be without …

City Crafter Challenge #196

Hello!
The sun is shining, it's not as cold as it has been last week and a new week ahead of us. Before I'm off to work I want to submit my card for this weeks' challenge at the  City Crafter Challenge. We're supposed to create a Valentine project or use the word "Story".
Here is the photo inspiration:

One of my goals for 2014 is to use my paper pads instead of hoarding them:). I also want to find out which style fits me best. I love primary colors but also pastels, blue as my very favorite color, gingham, polka dots, stripes and flowers.  The card I made pretty much sums up what I love. I used papers and stickers from Simple Stories "Summer Fresh". And added some sequins, twine and a wooden heart. A non traditional Valentine card and I am pleased how this card turned out.

A mix of patterns and colors:

Enjoy your day! Stella X

Sympathy Card

Hello,
In the first hours of this Sunday the mother of our closest friend passed away. We know his mother well since our friendship is lasting over more than 23 years.
She has been a wonderful mother for 10 sons! And a wonderful woman.to many more. His mothers' health became more and more fragile over the last few years. I made a sympathy card and added a fragile flower.

I made that flower from lining fabric. Cut circles with my scissors and "melted" the borders with the help of a candle. I held the edges of the fabric close to the flame . The edges are just melting and curling,  I assembled the circles with my hot glue gun and added a half pearl (which is flat on the back)
I also used shades of grey to keep a bit of a muted look. This patterned paper is from SU.
Here is my card:

Till soon, Stella X
